Such an absolute honour to have you featured on Playboy: What inspired you to start your career, and how has your journey evolved over time? I was in the executive space for years with an amazingly successful career, but I felt stuck and I was not happy. I gained a decent social media following and connected with the right people who ensured me I could model for a living and be wildly successful at it, so I took the plunge left my career in the dust, and dove head first into my future.
What’s one defining moment in your career so far? My first time walking the red carpet was surreal and so intimidating.
How do you stay true to yourself in such a competitive industry? That is actually quite easy for me. I promised myself at the beginning of this journey that I would never twist or undermine who I am and what is important to me for any reason. I find it incredibly exhausting to be a fake person just for someone to like me, and I honestly don’t see the point or why so many in this industry succumb to it. Just be you! You’re not going to be everyone’s cup of tea and that’s ok! I know for sure I am someone’s shot of tequila and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
If your life were a movie, what would the title be? Pay it Forward.
What’s your favorite guilty-pleasure snack or meal? The answer is and always will be pickled.
Do you have a favorite book, movie, or song that inspires you? Music is life for me. It is my make or break for my day and my mood. I listen to mostly heavy metal and metalcore such as Falling in Reverse, Ice Nine Kills, Memphis May Fire and I Prevail.
What has been your favorite project or collaboration to date? Playboy has by far been my favorite, but FHM is a close 2nd! So much more to come this year so stay tuned.
What advice would you give to someone looking to follow in your footsteps? Don’t give up! This industry is gruelling and demanding but always walk with your shoulders straight and your head held high. In your career and in your daily life, always walk with purpose and passion.
Is there a dream brand or platform you’d love to work with? I actually just applied for it! Sports Illustrated is a dream goal for me.
Which piece of clothing makes you feel confident and empowered when wearing it? My gym clothes! I feel the most empowered and strong in body and mind when I know I am doing good things for myself. The gym is my happy place.
What’s a must-have item in your wardrobe right now? My new fur-lined cheetah print movie star robe. I wear it every morning and it always starts my day off on a positive note.
What legacy do you hope to leave behind in your field? I aim to bring curvy and tattooed beauty to as many mainstream magazines as I can. I want to open the door for more models like me who don’t fit the model stereotype of being a size 00 and having no tattoos. We are changing this industry one magazine at a time.
