Of all the female R&B stars from the mid-2000s who used a creamy dessert as a sexual metaphor and scored an ubiquitous hit in the process, Kelis is definitely in the top five. The song in question, of course, is “Milkshake,” as in the thing that brings all the boys to the yard. And even though the singer had many other jams in the 14 years following her provocative 2003 smash, she’ll always be remembered for her “Milkshake,” because damn right, it’s better than yours.

Admittedly, I haven’t thought much about Kelis in a long time, except when Dodgeball is on cable TV. So needless to say, I was surprised to learn that she’s also an accomplished chef. In 2008, she trained at the Cordon Bleu, put out a cookbook of her favorite international recipes in 2015, and a year later opened a pop-up restaurant in London with Le Bun. You do you, Kelis. Diversify your portfolio, Kelis.

As the saying goes, however, you can take the chef away from the milkshake, but you can’t take the milkshake away from the chef. Or something. And so Kelis is finally realizing her destiny by partnering with Bailey’s to unveil her own milkshake—made with ginger beer, chocolate ice cream, candied ginger, a pinch of cayenne, and, of course, Bailey’s—because synergy.

In honor of National Chocolate Milkshake Day—Tuesday, September 12, for those marking calendars at home—see how to make Kelis’s delicious boozy treat in the video below (or check out the recipe, courtesy of VinePair).
