People love the month of October for more than a few reasons, some of which include brisker temperatures, Halloween and football in full swing, but the best one might very well be the grand tradition of Oktoberfest, a multi-week folk festival held every year in Munich. In celebration of liter-sized pitchers of beer, würstl (that’s sasauges, in case you don’t know) and ever-sexy dirndls, our August 1972 issue featured a pictorial of some of the city’s most beautiful women. A fair amount has changed since 1972, but Oktoberfest is nothing if not a timeless custom. Let’s take a moment to appreciate some equally enduring German locals.
